我想中国。
I want to go to China.
What a study session looks like
Lessons are short rounds of fill-in-the-blank sentences. Each one has natural audio, pinyin and an English translation when you want it.

Fill the blank
Pick the missing word from a sentence you can almost read.

See it in context
Check your answer, then hear the sentence and see what it means.

Tap any word
Mark words as known or learning. The next sentences adapt.

Read real articles
Graded Chinese Articles highlight only the words you haven't learned.
Why sentence mining works
- You learn words the way you'll use them
- A flashcard tells you 去 means "to go". A sentence shows you how to say "I want to go to China", so you can say it yourself.
- One new word at a time
- The app knows every word you've marked as known, so it picks sentences that stretch you by one new word wherever it can, not a wall of unknowns.
- Reviews arrive just before you'd forget
- Spaced repetition brings words back at growing intervals, which keeps them in long-term memory with less total study time.
- Bring your own material
- Add custom sentences, build your own packs or import an Anki deck. Read the sentence mining guide.
Track your progress and learn the words you choose
Every word you learn is counted, so you can see how far you've come and pick what to learn next.

Common questions
Is Mandarin Mosaic free?
Yes, you can learn with the free tier. Premium unlocks unlimited use, article generation and Cloud Sync, and your first month of Premium is free. See pricing.
What is sentence mining?
Sentence mining means learning vocabulary from whole sentences instead of single-word flashcards. Mandarin Mosaic picks sentences where you already know the other words, with one new word wherever possible.
Which HSK levels does it cover?
Lessons cover HSK 1 to 6 and New HSK 3.0 levels 1 to 7, in Simplified or Traditional characters.
Can I import my Anki decks?
Yes. Import an Anki deck (.apkg), a CSV or a text file of Chinese sentences into a pack and study them in lessons. You can also import a list of words you already know, so the app doesn't teach them as new. See how to import Anki decks, or browse free Chinese Anki decks.
Is there a web version?
No. Mandarin Mosaic runs on iPhone, iPad and Android.
